Hey, I'm Madi! I'm a bit multi-passionate. I love to learn new things, one of which, my husband says I'm reaching my "grandma era" because I love to sew. I also love learning about the human body, and how it functions, which I believe has helped me heal my relationship with my own body.
I'm also a photographer -- which is probably why you're here!
Photography for me is a way to share moments that happened in real time for you to relive as often as you want. There's something so special about a photo that brings out the memory you had locked away in your brain. It almost forces you to relive the moment, trying to recall the feeling, or someone's voice, or maybe the way the location looked at the time. It triggers those emotions that we may have buried under the years of experiences that we've had since.
There's something so beautiful about that.
Some other random things about me: I love to write. I have the best husband anyone could ask for. I have a pup named Theon who is my furbaby and just the purest thing. I really enjoy reading and getting the chance to escape into another world or into the mind of another person! I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist. I just enjoy experiencing life, and I lean into things that bring me any ounce of interest, but photography has always been my constant. In any form, I'm always documenting life; creating with people, for people, and just enjoying that. I like to view any session as a celebration. It truly is an honor when anyone chooses me to document that life celebration for them.
I'm inspired by the every day moments. There's nothing more wholesome than being surrounded by people you love. I come from a big family, and have been thankful enough to have many laughs, always having a friend, someone to play with during any season, even out in the rain. Yeah, having "things" is nice, but nothing beats having someone to share it with. Without people, nothing else really matters.
The early 2000's, when all you had was a camera to take a casual photo, not a phone in hand to post directly to the internet. When people weren't so "reachable". When "hanging out with friends" meant you were having actual conversations, you were living life, doing things. Not just sitting beside each other scrolling through social media. Not filling your life with FOMO (fear of missing out) and buying things to fill voids.
I'm inspired by living a slower pace in a busy world. It's hard to come by, but once you've managed to find that balance, you'll wonder why you ever wanted to fill your time with a screen scrolling time away.
That's why I love the disconnect from technology. Picking up a good book, feeling the pages as you flip to read another chapter. Some other things I love: hand written notes. Film cameras. Living an intentional life. I find inspiration in movies and music. By nature and beautiful sunlight. I'm inspired by people. In person people. Hearing about their life, and their feelings. Seeing their expressions. Those features that make them unique.
Something I've learned to enjoy is a good cup of coffee, with maybe a little too much creamer. Listening to people tell stories. Catching up with people I haven't seen in a while. Taking long walks with our pup. I'm inspired by the human body. I'm inspired by love. By happiness. People watching and living in Europe. Getting to experience their pace of life first hand.
My life experiences are my inspiration.
